(September 29, 2020, 10:16 am)Our family has been incredibly fortunate to have Laura and Joe Kerr sharing their beautiful and limitless musical talents and knowledge teaching our children to play piano and guitar for the past 12 years. It has been amazing to watch Laura and Joe reach and teach our boys throughout all stages in their childhood. Since our kids were 5, Laura has always been present for each of them, meeting them at their level and inspiring them to learn.
Laura found a way to keep our oldest son engaged, practicing and flourishing at the piano during middle school, an age when many children quit. When our younger son decided to switch to guitar in middle school, Laura’s husband Joe thankfully had a spot in his schedule. Both Laura and Joe understand how adapt to each new age, continuously teaching our boys to appreciate and play music. Our oldest continued piano lessons all the way through his high school schedule, only made possible by Laura’s flexibility and patience. Our younger son is just embarking on high school now and we are grateful because we know Joe will continue to be the ideal guitar teacher to keep him learning and playing these next four years.
If your children or you have the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument with Laura or Joe Kerr, take it. Not just incredibly gifted music teachers, Laura and Joe are wonderful people.
