The Village at Chestnut Hill

More accurately, I would score our residence and experience as 3.5 stars. We are in a renovated unit yet it looks like it was done on the cheap. Flooring has soft spots and the insulations is suspect. Appliances in the kitchen all function well and are new. The response to maintenance needs has been positive and quick. There are situations that seem in control of the ownership team that are easy wins for everyone:
1. Access to the pool was limited due to no regular life guard. Just pay more. This isn't a big cost.
2. There could have been a suspension/reduction of the 'administrative fee' given that there was no access to any gym in our first five months here.
3. Water meters can be installed in units to get accurate readings of use rather than a communal bill.
4. Adding a staff member to the maintenance team who has specialty in plumbing would be helpful.
As someone who works in the customer relations business, I welcome the chance to meet with the administrative team in a constructive way to share thoughts and ideas about improvements. Good business starts with good relationships.
Overall, it is a fine place to live with great access to beautiful Chestnut Hill and the shops at the village.

Getting in here was FAST. Melanie in the main office explained every fee and the screening process and got me a date for move in very quickly! She worked around my schedule and was very accommodating.

I don't want to jinx myself, but now that I've moved in, there have been no pests, the neighbors are super quiet, there's a package room, and the location....y'all the post office, grocery store, drugstore, pizza shop and Chinese restaurant are all right across the street and they are good! There's even more if you're willing to walk just 12 minutes to get to Germantown Ave.

I'd think the price was high if it weren't for the fact that there is just so much going right with this place. Parking everywhere, clean campus, newly finished gym, pool (although when it's open varies quite a bit depending on staffing), laundry room (although it's a bit pricey too the machines ALWAYS work), pet friendly, unending supply of hot water.

This really is just a great setup going on over here. Location, location, location! Cannot be beat.

My only qualm would be the heat situation, which is me being nit picky. You can't control when you're able to use it, but when it is on you are able to adjust the temperature for your apartment. However it fluctuates quite wildly in this building. Sometimes it's extremely cold even though you think you have the heat on and then other times it will be very hot even though you've turned the heat off.

My experience thus far at The Village at Chestnut Hill has been great! My move in process was made super easy by the leasing agent I worked with, Melanie Hapner. She was easy to get in contact with if I had any questions, willing to help with anything, and worked with me a lot whenever I had an issue with something. Melanie always has a positive attitude and seems to genuinely want to help the potential and current residents.

The only slight issue I have had with the complex is the exerminators. Whenver I request pest control, they come in a few days later and only spray a tiny bit of stuff in a couple of corners instead of getting full coverage of the apartment. I found it easier to simply buy my own products and spray instead of hoping they do a thorough job.

Overall, I have loved living at this apartment complex!
