Tandems East

We live in Oregon and have a 20 year old litespeed tandem and were looking to upgrade to Di2 shifting. We could not find anybody who could install Di2 with a triple chainring. Co-Motion suggested we call Tandems East. We did and Mel was fantastic. Right off the bat he was very knowledgeable about this type of upgrade and sent videos on how the system works. It was very difficult to pack our tandem up and ship it across country to a shop we had never been to. Mel guided us through the process of shipping and was in constant contact with us when they received the bike frame and sent us progress photos. We basically upgraded the entire drive system with new cranks, wheels and Di2 shifting system and installed an new front fork with disk brake (previously had rim brake). They did the work in a few days and shipped back quickly. The shipping cross country took the longest. This was a major upgrade and done very well. Have been riding our tandem now for the last month and the shifting system is great. Di2 system connects with our Garmin Edge 1030 plus and has all the shifting information easily seen. While we were touring around Quebec Canada for a 6 months trip, we realized that our rear wheel had a crack. We needed a fast repair and we called Mel from Tandem East. He took care of us write away and worked until late night to make sure that we would get a great, sturdy wheel for out Tandem ASAP. We got it two days later! This is the best customer service that we ever had in the hole world, and we did tour the world! My wife and I purchased a used cannondale tandem from Mel. We had an excellent experience, and we would definitely make the three hour trip again. Mel and Barbara are fantastic.
