Unsolicited review on STEMM on Roosevelt & Welsh
I want to write about the amazing daycare my daughter has been going to since September
My husband and I both started working closer to Center city around the time my daughter turned 3. We had to find a daycare closer to home 19115. First she went to Azbuka. I'm certain the owners have best intentions for the daycare, but in short they struggled with my daughter and we were recommended to find a smaller student: teacher ratio daycare. I'm sure many moms know that is not reality of daycare options in the area. We were lucky that Kid's Castle agreed to take my daughter in a short period of time. Unfortunately, we ran into very similar issues. For 5 months I really questioned what I myself was doing wrong that I couldn't get my child to calm down at drop off, couldn't get her to potty train fast enough so the daycares wouldn't be so frustrated, and really how I'm going to keep my job if I keep getting calls to pick up my child early because of extended tantrum or another potty accident, and each daycare recommends to find another daycare. I called every daycare in the area, some put me on the mystery wait list, some wouldn't even answer my calls for a visit after I explained my situation. I'm sure the situation screams " Problem child" and I was put on bottom of lists. When STEMM opened I was so anxious to start the whole process over again. It's coming on 5 months, and this is the longest stretch of time I am not anxious about childcare and feel a sense of relief. I have never received a call that my child is causing a tantrum and needs to be picked up. She has finally been potty trained, but had accidents initially, and no one guilted me about it. She has speech, behavioral, and special instruction support that not only have space to work with her on site, but all tell me she is thriving! It is such a good feeling to see your child happy and know that she is in good hands. I don't mean to speak poorly of other daycares, but maybe it's a PSA to step it up and take some lessons! My daughter's teachers Liliya and Yelena are patient, experienced, and accomodating. My child has a STEMM curriculum, aerobics, self defense class, arts and crafts, and even learning while playing doctor! One of the owners is a nurse, so self hygiene is built in throughout the day. Knock on wood, my child has not even been sick for 5 months. I cannot say enough good things ! Please feel free to message me if you have been in my shoes and looking for something better.

It's an awesome place for kids from Pre K through 5th grade. The Summer camp is a lot of fun, and kids avoid the Summer learning slide
