(March 14, 2023, 6:52 am)After passing by this place for the 20 plus years we have lived in the area we finally stopped in. And boy! are we glad we did! We have struggled to find a place that cooks great fried chicken. Theirs is just perfect.
Not too salty, not over battered, not desert dry.. Juicy and cooked just right.
Plenty of friendly staff, too!

(December 13, 2022, 11:38 am)Use to live down the road from here, the chicken is delicious and you won't get ripped off. I love the old fashioned vibe, like you just stepped out of time machine into the 50's. One of those simple restaurants that is also budget-friendly, but doesn't make you hate yourself for having low standards or like you are simply eating for survival purposes. I also really appreciate that the ice cream in only $1-$2. That is unheard of. You have to throw the customer a reward every now and then. They definitely do that.

Serve great food, Serve it consistently, serve it quick, serve it in a clean and friendly establishment and serve it a reasonable price. This place is an institution in the Collegeville area. Check it out. You’ll be happy you did. Pro tip, Try the corn fritters!

(August 29, 2021, 12:14 am)I drive 20 miles from Philly to try the Broaster chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s worth the road trip. The chicken is super flavorful and tender. Note it is fried chicken, albeit in a special way. So it’s a little greasier than broasted chicken which is broiled / roasted.
And I suspect Speak’s is great for family dinners with kids. There’s a variety of other items on the menu and they’re all fairly priced. And if they’ve half as tasty as the chicken even picky eaters should be happy.
