I count it a great privilege to be working with Paul to improve my guitar skills. He is professional and relational on every level and I count him not only as an instructor but also a friend!

Paul Colombo is a true professional with many decades of guitar teaching experience. No matter what level you're at or what level you aspire to, having Paul as your teacher is the best bet for achieving your guitar playing goals. He understands how to tailor lessons to best support his students to get them to where they want to be!

Paul took me on as a new student when I was 62, and had never played a musical instrument. Introduced to Paul by a mutual friend, I arrived with only an electric bass and a desire to learn to play the songs I loved. After conferring with me to understand what I wanted to achieve, Paul encouraged me to provide input on how we would work together and what music I wanted to learn to play. This kept me enthusiastic about playing and encouraged me to continue to practice and learn.

Thanks to Paul’s encouraging approach and his fantastic teaching skills I can now play those songs on the bass that I’ve enjoyed since my childhood.

Paul is a professional, and a wonderful music teacher. I highly recommend Paul to anyone, young or old.

I can speak from experience that Paul is wonderful, patient teacher who is equally adept at working with children and adults. Paul has a deep background and practical experience as an educator, recording artist and performer. He can get deep into the theory if you want to but where he’s helped me the most is in offering practical, hands on tips that improved my playing and mental approach to learning new material. He tailors his methods to you and your goals. As a performer, he’s helped me take new approaches to my live gigs and consider how to engage the audience, fit into and compliment the other band members, etc. He’s the complete package and will be your biggest cheerleader! I appreciate the time he takes to check in and answer my random questions (“Hey Paul, I just heard this cool song, what’s that strange chord so and so is playing at 2:13”). I’ve referred friends to Paul who have been very happy with the results. From rock to country to funk and jazz, Paul can handle it all. I can’t say enough good things about him.

My 12 year old has been taking lessons from Paul Colombo for about 8 months now. It truly has been a great experience for my son. He’s typically an anxious and serious student. Paul identified his personality early on and adapted his teaching style to make guitar more enjoyable for him. I, personally, have tried taking guitar in both a 1:1 lesson and group setting. I never took to it because, in both instances, I was only taught chord charts. Paul’s approach is much better. It is engaging and never boring. Allowing his students to learn songs at the onset both encourages goal building and a genuine appreciation of varied music genres. Not everyone will be a virtuoso, but I strongly believe that everyone should learn some form of music. In my son’s case, it has helped relieve his stress levels and build his confidence. Paul’s laid-back approach puts him at ease and allows him to have fun with the guitar, all while learning how to play and play well. I would highly recommend Paul to anyone who was looking for lessons.
