It was always my desire to learn the piano but did not have the right teachers, until now. Kathy is fantastic, she is a highly educated musician and teacher, a real professional. She motivates me to want to be an accomplished player. It’s been a pleasure getting to know Kathy and I’m fortunate to be her student.

I've been taking lessons with Kathy for over two years, coming in with no piano experience as an adult student. Kathy has been a wonderful teacher. Our lessons are well-balanced with both theory and practicing. Her love of music and the piano is so clear. I highly recommend taking lessons with Kathy!

My daughter has been a student of Keys in Motion for 8 months and it has been a very positive experience. Kathy is kind, patient and blends theory and practice in a way that is approachable for us. In less than a year, it is really amazing to see my daughter read music and play for the family. I highly recommend Keys in Motion.

Kathy is a knowledgable and gifted piano teacher, who's love of the piano and music is clear to the observer. My son, who is 8, has been taking piano lessons with Kathy for almost a year. He was new to the piano when starting with her. I wanted him to take piano as I am aware of the benefits and hoped it would help him to learn to control his body and mind, as he is extremely active and this is an area of concern. Kathy has been able to meet my son at his level and pace. He has made considerable progress in focusing and attending at the piano, as well as enjoying the process!

I am an early intermediate adult piano student and have been taking lessons from Kathy Dykstra for two years. She accepts students from elementary school age through adults. During the year she holds several student recitals and encourages her students to perform at local community events and also enter competitions, if qualified. Kathy combines theory with playing, so students acquire a solid musical background. She works on technique and allows students to choose musical pieces which appeal to them. I have learned and expanded my piano skills greatly and can recommend Kathy highly as a piano teacher.
