I brought my 6 yr old cat to them 11 days after having a dental procedure at the vet and his regular vet was dismissive of his symptoms. He was in congestive heart failure. The regular vet didn't pick up the murmur during his preop exam and now he was extremely ill. The staff was amazingly compassionate and honest with me. They kept me updated every step of the way as he stayed for 3 days. They squeezed us in to see the cardiologist when they were scheduling 3 months out. Sadly my poor boy didn't make it the 9 days to the appt even on medication. I see a lot of complaints here about wait times and costs, this is an emergency vet. They triage like an emergency room for people would. When his vet didn't take the concerns seriously, they did. Their staff was very sweet. They did all they could to help me get him well, they called to check up a few days after we left. They did all this with kind hearts, patience and never ending adoration for Mitch. Then when he passed away and I called them at 1a.m., because I had no clue what to do, in shock and borderline hysterical, they were able to calmly go over my options. I will miss my Mitch forever, but will be eternally grateful that in his hardest time they were there to provide amazing care.

I have use the blue pearl animal hospital for two different dogs. The first time was from my beloved dog‘s passing. For this, they were ultra professional. They had to deliver the results that led to us having to let him go. For this type of situation, their candor and sensitivity were amazing. The second visit was for a younger dog in an emergency situation, where he was hospitalized over four days. The results were costly, but considering the care plan, the options and the staffing, it was worth it. Very friendly and accommodating.

First, I love Blue Pearl’s location. Being a resident of Newark for over 10 years, it’s finally nice to see a business do well in a strip mall that was failing for years.

We consulted Blue Pearl, initially in Florida, for my first dog. And when we moved back to Delaware, I knew to call them when I needed emergency services with my second dog.

Despite COVID, I appreciated being able to “check in” ahead of time when having to bring in my pup at 2:00 am. They were relatively clean for the limited staffing, but by no means were they quick.

The first time I received a room almost immediately, but the second time, I sat in the waiting room for an hour. I opted to not hospitalize my dog, and she was able to recover with them sending her home with medication (thankfully).

The prices I would have been charged were insane, but I didn’t expect anything less because that seems to be the song you sing in the vet industry. Regardless, if my regular vet is closed, I wouldn’t hesitate to go to Blue Pearl.

I brought my sweet Daisy Mae in when she became very ill over the weekend. These vets and vet techs are truly amazing. Unfortunately they were not able to save her as she declined very rapidly however their compassion and dedication was truly amazing. Dr. Laura Guilani and Andy truly are amazing at their job and I am so glad they were so compassionate when my family needed it to say goodbye to our fur baby. Thank you to Blue Pearl team!
