Although the location at the navy yard was very difficult since I live in center city and do not drive, the attention to detail and skill of Dr. Roedl, made the trip worthwhile. I highly recommend him.

I'm a middle-aged guy who had been dealing with pain and restricted mobility in his shoulder for over two decades. It got to the point where I couldn't do a push-up, throw a ball overhand to my kids, or even pour a glass of milk without some degree of pain. I tried various stretches and physical therapies, but never really saw much improvement and chalked it up as an inevitable part of the aging process.

Fortunately, my wife nudged me to see a doctor (yeah, I'm also the kind of guy who generally avoids doctors) who diagnosed me with calcific tendonitis. Possible treatment options consisted of PT (which didn't work), surgery (which I wasn't interested in at this point), and something else I'd never heard of called ultrasound-guided lavage (an outpatient procedure where they use ultrasound to guide a needle into the deposit to break it up and flush it out).

I am not exaggerating when I say that this procedure (which was no more painful than getting a flu shot in your shoulder for ~10 minutes) worked like a magical switch to turn off 20+ years of suffering. The pain is now 100% gone, and no more clicking/popping/grinding noises as I move my shoulder. It's as close to a miracle cure as I've experienced in my life.

My experience with Dr Roedl was seamless. I was taken in a timely manner. Prepared for my procedure, and everything was explained to me in a manner that I could understand. During my procedure, the Dr Roedl and the nurse were both very understanding to my pain level and proceeded to alleviate my shoulder issue to the point that I could actually move it when I walked out of that office. I had not previously been able to move my shoulder for weeks without tears and cringing. My range of motion was so limited that if I would roll over in the evening I would wake. I cannot say how grateful I am. Dr Roedl also took some time after my procedure to explain that my issue may return and personally hand me his card and explain that I can return for follow-up treatment. It is very rare that you find a Doctor who is as busy, that cares enough to take the time to explain exactly what is going on to his patience.
