I've boarded my mare at Great Scott Farm for only a month, but I've also been coming here intermittently for a year to watch a friend ride. I've always been pleased with their professionalism. Lindsay and Connor take pride in their property, their horses, and their teaching. Their barn staff is lovely and has always treated me with respect - even when I wasn't yet their client. It speaks volumes of a business when they are kind to someone they're not trying to impress!

I was initially intimidated to move my mare to GSF as I'm pretty shy and didn't know what to expect. However, I immediately felt welcomed by staff and boarders alike. My mare has thrived under the care at GSF - she's never been so relaxed and happy. And Lindsay has been working with me through some mental blocks in my riding. We've made calculated changes in my mare's management and my way of riding...and we're starting to reap the results! I can't wait to see how we continue to progress under Great Scott Farm's program!

Update 1/20/23: still board here, still love it!

Lindsay’s way with my daughter is incredible! From day 1! In 2 weeks and 5 lessons I believe she had my daughter balanced and assured on one of her incredible lesson ponies!!! She was posting beautifully at the trot by lesson 5! Lana travels almost 4 hours on weekends from Virginia if that says anything about Lindsay! Great Scott farm is a family friendly facility based in the beautiful hills of Pennsylvania about 5 minutes from Devon! Highly recommend!!!

I moved my horse here in Dec 2020 and couldn’t be happier. Connor & Lindsay pay attention to every detail & their dedicated staff love & care for every animal on the property as if they were their own. I never worry about my horse. With their guidance & care, my boy is the healthiest & happiest he’s been. That kind of peace of mind is priceless.

I have also improved greatly as a rider & horse owner. I take lessons with Connor - he’s very adept at breaking things down and explaining them in a way that works very well for me. He pushes his students, but always ensures that they are safe and supported. He is also extremely patient. My horse & I needed to rebuild some basics, which can be pretty boring at times, but is so so important. Connor also puts up with all my questions and is great about giving me homework so that I have very specific things to work on between lessons.

While I don’t take lessons with Lindsay, she never the less still answers my questions and shares advice freely & warmly. She is also gracious and welcoming when I ride in the ring when she is teaching - I always feel welcome.

To address some of the negative reviews:

Lindsay & Connor are working parents that live on the farm. This is their home. Sometimes babysitters cancel. Sometimes both of them are teaching at the same time, so their son will be around. I don’t understand why anyone would have a problem with that - this is their son’s home. Respect that. He is the sweetest little boy, has been around horses his whole life & knows how to behave around them. And Lindsay & Connor always have an eye on him, as well as any other little that visits their farm. I am often amazed at their patience, esp for adults who lack the ability to adult.

As for those trespassers, you’re lucky that’s all that happened. What if you walked into a pasture & a horse took issue with you? That would not have ended well. I’m thankful my horse is somewhere I know he will be protected. And you should be thankful Lindsay kept you from doing anything stupid - these are very large prey animals that get scared by shadows, wind, a loud noise or sudden movement. Again, lacking the basic ability to adult.

Our 9 yr old daughter has been taking riding lessons at Great Scott Farm for a little over six months now. She started as a beginner, and is now riding with confidence. Lindsay and Connor, and their entire staff, are very knowledgeable in all things horse related, as well as kind in their teaching, especially with beginners, whether recreational or professional. Lindsay and Connor are salt-of-the-earth people and make the entire experience of learning about riding and horses a real pleasure for everyone. Additionally, all of the other riders we have encountered at the farm have been nothing but helpful and kind to both my daughter and myself when we have any questions or needs. It's a very nice, familial-feeling and caring atmosphere at Great Scott. And, the farm is just stunning. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great farm/barn.

I moved my off track thoroughbred to Great Scott Farm in the summer of 2018. He is not only a hard keeper, but also tends to be a little high maintenance. Both Lindsay and Connor went out of their way to tailor a nutrition/care program to my horse’s specific needs and as a result he completely flourished in their care. As an experienced horse owner, I have a tough time trusting others to care for my horse, but they treated him as one of their own with detailed care and attention daily. Their staff as a whole, goes above and beyond to care for each and every horse as evidenced by their long term boarders and clients. The facility is beautifully maintained, offering amenities that are tough to find in a single location and at an extremely competitive board rate.
