I hired Eric to help a family member who made a stupid mistake but was willing to be accountable for their actions. I recall one of my first discussions with Eric, where he said something to the effect of, "The justice system is not designed to rehabilitate people, it is designed to destroy lives." Eric took on the case for a fixed fee, never once requesting more money even though the case dragged out over far more delays and court appearances than were expected. He was always on top of the situation, was responsive to requests for updates and - most importantly - negotiated a favorable outcome that was unlikely to have been reached with the aid of a public defender.
