My DTR experience ...

For years, I had a 1965 Fastback K Code (hipo) Mustang that was being restored by the original owner. The plan was to recreate it into a vintage race car, known as the GT350R (Race Model). After many years of stagnant activity on the build, I took the Mustang project home in pieces.

My search began to locate a restoration shop that would and could properly complete the recreation build. I found DTR Automotive through a friend of my brothers. I called the shop, liked what they had to say and eventually went to meet Brian and Cody in person. I felt an immediate connection with the two shop owners. I got the feeling they were dedicated to doing a quality job and take pride in their reputation. It’s what I would describe as a no BS shop. No bells or whistles, just a shop that gets the job done at a very fair price.

Fast forward a few weeks.... I dropped the car off and i was given a start date. On that date, I was immediately updated with photos of the progress. I was very pleased with how much was getting done each and every day. In my mind, the progress well justified every hour I was billed. I have learned from others that when you pay by the hour, you really have no idea what hours are legitimately put fourth into your build. I know that’s not the case at DTR Automotive. I witnessed first hand how they make sure the customer is only billed for the time they worked on the project.

My build wasn’t straight forward and I had many special requests. Some of these requests had the guys working backwards. They honored all of them without hesitation. On a few occasions, details were added without my knowledge, making the build above and beyond what I had asked. I found it very easy to work with these guys. I’m extremely happy with the end result. The paint is flawless and shines with the 6 coats of clear. The craftsmanship is the best around. I’m certain they will be working on another one of my vehicles very soon.

Bryan and Cody really do top notch work. I’ve taken numerous cars there for electrical work paint repair and collision repair. I’ve seen other projects they’ve had in their shop and it’s really amazing the amount of fine detail they can put into a restoration. They were also really easy to work with and I would be willing to go there again.

Had a lot of leftover "little parts" that were rare enough & still viable to restore from a full restoration of my '66 SS. Most shops would never bother with stuff this small ... not these guys. They went through each one with patience giving them the true attention to detail they deserved. Now these parts are better than new again waiting for me on my shelves in ready to use condition whenever I may need them. Really can't say enough good things about this place. The quality of work is very high & well worth the drive out. Highly recommended !

DTR Automotive did a frame off rotisserie restoration on my 1967 Camaro convertible and it came out absolutely beautiful! Brain and Cody are great to work with, and they really do top quality work. I thought what they charged was very reasonable, I'm sure this project would have cost me a great deal more at another shop. I can't thank them enough for the job they did.
