Complete Care at Marcella

My grandmother is a patient there right now. The nurses are great and the place is very clean. The one thing though is they don't have chairs for patients to sit in just wheelchairs. They need to get chairs for the patients to be more comfortable in. I have never been to any place where chairs aren't there. I will give the rating a high rating just the chair issue. Hopefully they can eventually get them.

The Marcella team took wonderful care of my father for approximately 2 months. What struck me most was the consistency of the staff who learned my father's preferences and visited him even when he wasn't on their assignment. I frequently watched staff interact with other residents in respectful ways, having a cup of coffee together and making jokes. This spirit of community is difficult to capture in reported metrics, but so important to residents of the facility. The nursing care was excellent, including nursing assistants, LPNs, the nurse manager, and the nursing supervisor. They went out of their way to meet my dad's needs and communicated with us regularly. My dad's condition unfortunately worsened. The Marcella team skillfully ensured my dad was comfortable in the final hours of his life. They exceeded my expectations in a horrible situation and I greatly appreciate their skill and compassion.

It’s a qualified 5 stars because I am impressed with the number of nurses and techs working but it’s so hard to get questions answered. Facility is beautiful, food is good, and care is wonderful. Most of the staff is friendly, responsive, and caring. We were lucky to get in and appreciate all the help. So far so good.
