Decent campground that could use some work. Seems like if they spent time patrolling their campground a lot of their issues could be easily fixed
THE BAD:
CampSite was hard to find, we had to stop and ask other campers what site they were at and then used the process of elimination.
We booked our site next to a bathhouse, apparently not all their bath houses have showers. Would have been nice to know this before we reserved our campsite.
Both campsites and roads could use signage improvements
Our site was missing a campfire ring so we had to go down to the store to get a replacement.
Didn’t see any staff patrolling the campgrounds for the 3 days we were there.
Lots of unsupervised kids, had to deal with kids walking in the middle of the road and not moving over. During the one incident I had to come to a complete stop and then use my horn because they wouldn’t move out of the road. Yes we have kids (8 & 10), we just don’t let them run around unsupervised at a campground.

THE GOOD
Kept our campsite and didn’t change it
Our campsite was very spacious.
Our site was missing a camp fire ring, and after we reported it missing then promptly brought a new one.
Camp store is a decent size and has late hours.
The playground was in good condition and was a good size.
Bathrooms were clean

The campground is very family oriented. They are always concerned of all the campers well-beings in their best interest. That is very hard to find these days. Some of the kids were a little unruly but if I would have handled it properly and gone to the office immediately they would have taken care of it and I did not do that and that is all on me. I did speak with them and they wish that I would have gotten hold of them immediately and they would have handled it. That is totally my fault for not doing that. But all in all I would recommend the campground. We met a lot of great people and it is a family-owned and rund. We like to see our money go too. Campgrounds like this? We will be back. Happy camping everyone

First time at Colonial Woods. I will probably return. Fortunately I had a roomy pull through spot with some privacy for my camper van. Some spots seem crowded.
Roads are paved and gravel and not all are well marked. I got lost trying to find my site. Had to ask a friendly guy walking his dog for help. Bathrooms aren't bad. I would skip the shower. Store staff were very nice. Lots of stuff in the store. Quite a few activities for kids. Kids would really enjoy this campground. Looks like they are working on some upgrades to the campground. Would be nice to have benches around the lake so u can sit and enjoy the scenery. Pool looked very nice.
