Baldpate Mountain

Good mix of trails, from intense to leisurely. The red trail has some good climbs but can get really wet during the spring and fall, so take water resistant boots if that's what your doing. The trails are mostly well maintained and there is a conservation area on the white trail where there is a pollinator area, some tables, and a look out. There are also some cool old buildings on the property. Take bug spray!

A good variety of trails with some elevation and nice view south from top of strawberry hill where you can see Philly skyscrapers on a clear day. If you want a good workout the yellow trail will do. The blue trail up from the fiddlers creek lot has a short section with stone steps which require some agility. The red trail is serene although trees heavily damaged from a 2021 tornado as is part of the blue trail. The white trail from the pleasant valley lot follows the ridge so less elevation change and easier to hike. Stay on the trails and keep your dogs leashed given the rare wildlife in this area.

Great place to ride but bring your lungs and legs. The trail conservancy has done a great job maintaining the main trails, especially after the tornadoes. Leave yourself a few days before riding after rain. It gets wet and stays wet, especially on the red loop, Pleasant Valley and Stiles. Spring thaw it's close to hellish from the mud. *Copper Hills is temporarily closed (as of winter '22/'23) after the Kuser connector. Some sections of Kuser, Copper Hills and Summit are definitely technical black (heavily rocky and fairly steep). Ted Stiles and the Power Line are nearly impassible into the summer from briars, rose and mile-a-minute.

I really wanted to go hiking and in the area this mountain is not bad! I came on a Sunday in the late morning (~11am) and there was ample parking. We hiked about 6 miles and when we finished there were more cars in the parking lot but not super crowded or anything. In the fall the trees are pretty and there is cell signal everywhere. Overall the trails are pretty easy to follow and shaded. You can get a decent workout since there is some elevation (our elevation map looks up and down and up and down, etc).

Come Again? Yes! This satisfied my hiking cravings. In the area there aren’t that many places to get a decent hike but this one is good.

This is my second hike here. When I first tried it during winter it was so open. I wanted to see it during summer. It didn't disappoint. I started off in BLUE and it felt I stepped into some preserved bushy woods. In a mile come the boulders. It wasn't that bad. And then continued on to WHITE then ORANGE, GREEN and BLUE back. Total of ~6-7 miles. There were some open areas that was too hot for me to handle. Saw the Delaware River at the summit. Overall it was a good hike.

The markers could have been better. I felt as if some good Samaritan had written the direction/instructions using some permanent markers:( if not for those could easily miss the trail.
